Auderer Sheep Farm is
a commercial sheep farm that consists of commercial ewe and seed stock flocks as well as a
lamb feedlot (I purchase around 260 feeder lambs each year). While I enjoy working with sheep and farming in
general, I do not consider the sheep pets or a hobby. My primary interest is
making a profit from raising sheep.
I grew up raising sheep,
getting our first ewes in 1986. I started my own ewe flock in 2002 and
currently have total of 65 ewes of varying
breeds and crosses (flock genetics include Polypay, Columbia, East Friesian and Romanov breeds). Since those first sheep in 1986, I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to
successfully raise sheep. I have spent considerable effort developing
breeding strategies, selection methods, marketing plans, feeding
programs and health schedules with the sole purpose of improving the
profitability of commercial sheep production.
If you are interested in profitable commercial sheep production, I invite you to
check out the rest of my site and/or contact me. I enjoy sharing
ideas with others and have a wide variety of profitable
genetics for sale.
Those of
you familiar with us, might notice that we have 'shrunk' - my father
retired from farming in Fall 2007. However, I am continuing to expand my
operations.
